The engineering ingenuity of the Deceptions definitely are boundless when we saw how Megatron put together this Giant Purple Griffin for their evil plans in the Middle East.
Definitely something which seems apt to be re-created in the CyberBase Tracks size for interplay with other Titans!
Much like the Griffin we saw in the series, this recreated model comes with a lot of articulated joints to allow for various different poses to be achieved.
The griffin features wings which can be folded upwards or downwards, with upper wing parts which can be extended or retracted.
A pair of missiles sit under the each of the wings, allowing effect parts to be added on either the front 3mm peg or a rear 5mm port.
The main body of the griffin doubles up as a CyberBase Tracks compatible transport area, accessible via either a front or rear door.
With the door opened, Cyberbase Tracks can be placed inside and extended outwards ... and connected to other pieces, like this ramp piece here. A similar setup can be done with the rear door open.
Or these can even connected up with other Earthrise or Titans Returns tracks if you have those handy!
Aside from simply standing up, the legs can be folded to allow for a rather Sphinx-like sitting pose for the Griffin.
This pose is also very apt for attaching a off ramp to unload the Decepticon spoils of war!
Throw in a couple of appropriately scaled figures and this definitely is a great piece for any Transformers display!
But wait, that's not all --- the front portion of the Griffin's head also packs an optional swappable piece which comes with twin head canons!
These canons are sized to allow for blast effects to be added on too! Pew pew pew!
Just had to take a couple more shots to show how the Griffin can play along with other Titans so here's some examples with placed with Earthrise Scorponok!
=== ASSEMBLY ===
There are many different parts to this build so to help things along, here's a handy assembly chart (showing only the Left side of parts where there is a mirror-imaged Right side, to reduce visual confusion):
As usual, we make use of 5mm pegs to connect things up, but also use two thinner 4mm pegs for the hinges of the front and rear doors. Rods to trim to size are provided with the kit version.
